This ingenious small space design solution in the form of an expandable desk is brought to you by Milan-based designer Krassi Dimitrov, and is packed with smart features. Starting out as a cube that looks like a small filing cabinet, two expansive desktop surfaces fold out to facilitate one or two work spaces. But there's more. Pull on the drawer and a light table appears for projects that require architectural drawings or photo work. There's even a file drawer on each side. And the integrated wire management system is especially brilliant, allowing for electric current, USB cables and even speaker wire to be accessible but tidily stowed anywhere on the unit. The entire unit is on wheels (beautiful ones at that, designed by Andriano for Ogtm), yet the primary cable moves with the desk, ready to be plugged into the closest available outlet. Called the "Kanapetko" desk for creative people, we're not yet sure of the cost, or even if it's available in the US (I've written the designer asking him these questions, and if he responds, will update the post). In the meantime, you've got to admire the smarts that went into this little beauty.
We saw it first at Yanko Design.
